RunningAnalyser (“the app”) is a running-analysis app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. In short: your health and workout data stays on your device during normal use. Data only leaves your device in the two specific cases described below, and it is never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
The app reads running workouts from Apple Health (HealthKit) with your permission: workouts, distance, active energy, heart rate, running speed, running power, step count/cadence, running form metrics, and GPS route.
This data is processed entirely on your device and cached in a local database in the app’s private storage. During ordinary use it is not transmitted to any server, and it is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. Deleting the app removes this local cache. You can also clear it any time in Settings → Data → Clear Cached Data, and you can revoke the app’s Health access in the iOS Settings → Health app.
To show the weather conditions for a run, the app sends an approximate location for that run — the centre of mass of its route (the average of its GPS points) — together with the time of the run’s midpoint to Apple’s WeatherKit service and stores the returned weather locally. No account, name, email, or health data is sent. Apple’s WeatherKit privacy terms apply to that request. For runs older than WeatherKit’s historical coverage, the app instead uses the temperature and humidity already recorded with the workout, with no network look-up.
If you use the in-app Report a Bug, Request a Feature, or Contact the Developer features, the following is sent to a small server that the developer operates, which records it as a private issue on the developer’s repository:
Attached run data is a full export of the selected run(s) and includes identifiable health data such as the GPS route (which can reveal where you live or exercise), heart rate, and cadence. Attaching runs is entirely optional and off by default.
Storage and retention. Attached run data is stored in a private cloud storage bucket and is automatically deleted 90 days after upload. Messages and any email you provide are stored in the private repository issue. This information is used only to diagnose problems and reply to you — never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared further.
Your choices and deletion. You do not have to enter an email or attach any run data. You can ask the developer to delete data you submitted (including any attached runs and your email) by contacting markusjehl@icloud.com from the same email address you used in the submission; it will be deleted promptly.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use the Advertising Identifier. No data is used to track you across apps or websites.
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change and the current version will be published at the same URL.
Questions or data-deletion requests: markusjehl@icloud.com, or use the in-app Contact the Developer feature.
